Spring has turned into early summer and my friends and I have been very busy around the farm. I have quite a few new nephews and nieces and more distant relatives too. The sun has shone almost continuously, apart from one or two very light showers and the ground is rock hard. Mum was trying to make a muddy patch for the swallows yesterday and Harvest and Alice thought it was wonderful. We have baby wrens in the log shed and baby blue tits in the nesting box - who we think are nearly ready to fledge. Peter Rabbit has lots and lots of children and Mr and Mrs Fox have started letting their cubs play at the edge of the field - under their very watchful eye.
This is our water tower that the Barn Owls nest in the top of. It is covered in wisteria, honeysuckle and roses and smells really beautiful (says Mum). Mr and Mrs Blackbird have their nest right in the middle and the other day when Dad was rescuing a Baby Blackbird from the dustbin in the log shed, they both dive-bombed out of the flowery mass straight at him. We had a bit of a chuckle.

About UsHello! My name is Gordon and I am a Gold Sebright and my best friend is Sylvia. She is a Silver Sebright. We live with our foster parents on a small farm in the country. We thought that we would put our take on life and what we get up to through the year into a diary for you. All the characters are real and the events are a true record, interpreted with a modicum of poetic licence. We hope you enjoy it. Love Gordon and Sylvia Archives
